The Mouse Cube – the humane way to deal with mice in the house!
I know this may be a strange post here, but I am just so happy with using these. Right now I’m living a bit outside NYC, and we sure are getting a lot of mice that like to come in from the cold – and who could blame them. They love my recording studio, maybe more than even my bands! What they eat is a mystery, there is no food back there really.
Having seen mice and glue traps, and the old fashioned kind of snap traps, I knew they weren’t for me. I mean, why kill these little guys for their attempt to stay warm in the winter.
I’ve tried a few different types of catch and release traps. I did a comparison. But really, it was no comparison. The “mice cube” won hands down. Others agree too. And you know what? It is also the least expensive. I bought ours at the local True Value hardware store, locally know known as the “Rock and Roll Hardware Store” btw.
It is so simple. Put a little food inside this thing and leave it out. I use oats, or nuts, but really anything works – you don’t need cheese, that’s for sure. The mouse comes in and the trap door shuts them in. Make sure to drive about 3 or 4 miles before releasing them. They have really good memory for location and you don’t want them back.
One thing though – you need to check these traps every day. It’s not all that big in there, and the mice get stressed out, and definitely will die in there after a day or two. I have a daily alarm on my phone to check – it has helped.
Let’s all live together on this beautiful planet. Mice are cute!
